Màre~ (Latin Or.) the sea
The setting for our Màre rings is one that was originally hand carved from wax, so we could feel the form; how it moved, how it felt on, and how it would marry with the stone. Like so much of what we do, it's shape is meant to suggest a contemporary antiquity, and a piece that is new, yet feels like it's already spent a lifetime with you.
This particular one features a very old and unusual 3.20ct star sapphire, set in warm 18k Royal gold. It's reminiscent of staring at the reflection of clouds in a blue pool.
The sandblasted finish on the metal lends an appropriate antiquity to the stone. The setting and other high areas as well as the interior of the ring have been polished to highlight the form.
