This petrified palm comes from the beaches that once lined the prehistoric coastline of the Gulf of Mexico. Over time the organic wood materials within it were replaced by silicate minerals, dating it somewhere between 83-34 million years old. It’s a unique stone of beautiful, subtle, neutral coloring with distinct spotted patterns that reflect its origins. Fun trivia: it’s known as the official state stone of Texas, as well as the state fossil of Louisiana.
