Màre~ (Latin Or.) the sea
The setting for our Màre rings is one that was originally hand carved from wax, so we could feel the form; how it moved, how it felt on, and how it would marry with the stone. Like so much of what we do, it's shape is meant to suggest a contemporary antiquity, and a piece that is new, yet feels like it's already spent a lifetime with you.
This one features a stone very close to my heart, the Maine tourmaline. It is a sort of pale apple green hue, weighing 5ct. The sandblasted finish on the paler 10k gold adds a refreshing subtlety to the color of the stone, and compliments without distracting. This sandblasting tones down the otherwise bright shiny finish on the gold so that both the stone and metal are balanced and compliment one another. The setting and other high areas as well as the interior of the ring have been polished to highlight the form.
