Each Mabé Pearl Màre ring is one of a kind, featuring a silvery grey Tahitian Mabé pearl. These pearls are half-pearls, cultivated on the inside of a mollusk's shell. A small nucleus, usually made out of mother of pearl, is attached to the shell of the mollusk and left to accumulate nacre over a period that usually runs about two or three years. The result is a subtle, organic beauty which reflects the true nature of the material. The setting is one which has been hand carved from wax, and like so much of what we do, is meant to suggest a contemporary antiquity, and a piece that is new, yet feels like it's already spent a lifetime with you.
This unique pearl has a few subtle little flecks in its nacre, which illustrate the organic nature of the material. It is set in 18k recycled yellow gold and is a size 6.
